Job summary

Spokane County is seeking a Road Maintenance Technician to upkeep county roads and right of ways, operating dump trucks, graders, rollers, sweepers, and other heavy equipment. CDL with Tanker Endorsement and a WA DMV medical card are required, along with flagging certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year of road maintenance or related heavy equipment experience.
  • Must obtain and maintain WA flagging certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Must hold WA driver's license and maintain clean driving record.
  • Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement and CDL Medical Card required.
  • DOL driver abstract submission prior to hire; driving record reviewed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate maintenance vehicles and heavy equipment (CDL required).
  • Perform road maintenance tasks including patching, shoulder work, ditches, and drainage.
  • Assist in winter road care and snow removal operations.
  • Maintain equipment and complete time/equipment records.
  • Ensure safety in work zones and communicate with supervisor.
