Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) in Kelso, WA seeks an experienced Highway Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance crews, plan and supervise daily activities, and coordinate emergency response.

Qualifications

  • Independent leadership of multiple highway maintenance crews across duty stations and shifts.
  • Experience tracking expenditures and independently managing inventories.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and practices with applied leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Highway Maintenance crews performing daily maintenance and operations activities on assigned roadways and structures.
  • Plan, schedule, supervise, and budget highway maintenance activities for daytime Kelso and St. Helens crews.
  • Conduct employment interviews and recommend actions related to employment.
  • Oversee employee development and performance evaluations.
  • Prioritize and budget using MAP System to develop annual maintenance plan.
  • Prepare records and reports on work, expenditures, and emergencies with agencies.
  • Conduct monthly crew safety and training meetings.
  • Review and approve access permits and franchise applications.
  • Communicate and coordinate resources for emergency response with EOC and Incident Command.
