Job summary

Fior di Sole in Napa, CA, is seeking a Cellar Worker to support winery and wine production operations, including handling grapes, sanitation, and daily cellar tasks under supervision.

Hourly pay is $20.00–$20.50, with a full-time, non-exempt schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m. A flexible schedule and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Requirements include basic math, ability to work with chemicals, prior winery experience preferred, and forklift certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the crusher during grape crushing operations.
• Able to understand simple instructions and ask questions when clarification is needed.
• Maintains safety awareness at all times.
• Connects portable pumps between tanks and operates valves to pump wine and alcohol between stainless steel tanks.
• Pumps chilled wine into tanks and adds prescribed chemicals to the wine.
• Pumps wine through filters to remove sediment and clarify wine.
• Operates a filter press to separate juice from pomace.
• Cleans and sanitizes tanks, crushers, presses, filters, pumps, hoses, floors, and other equipment.
• Starts pumps, turns valves, or adjusts controls to move materials.
• Dumps, pours, or loads materials for processing or storage.
• Sets machine controls to regulate flow, temperature, and pressure.
• Monitors gauges and meters to ensure proper processing conditions.
• Removes blockages and defects from processing equipment.
• Examines samples for quality indicators such as clarity and texture.
• Measures or weighs materials for refinement and processing.
• Communicates processing instructions to other workers.
• Collects samples for laboratory analysis.
• Lubes and maintains hoses, pumps, and filters.
• Inspects equipment for hazards and efficiency.
• Operates a forklift (if certified) and bottling/labeling equipment.
• Stacks wine on pallets and loads trucks for shipment.
