E. & J. Gallo Winery offers a six-month Winemaking and Spirits Distillation Internship (July–December 2027) at Modesto, Fresno, Livingston, CA.

Interns gain hands-on experience in winemaking, spirits distillation, and enology research, working with seasoned professionals across multiple production sites. Participants may support commercial-scale winemaking, small-lot research, or spirits production, with opportunities to monitor fermentations, document data, and present a project to Gallo’s

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in college or university and pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, or Engineering.
• Available for the entire duration of the internship program.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; travel up to 10% may be required.
• Must be 18+ and 21+ for certain responsibilities; ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Participate in product evaluations and trials including fermentation monitoring and sensory evaluation.
• Assist with wine production, small-lot research wines, and enology research projects.
• Conduct data collection, record-keeping and analysis in winemaking, spirits distillation, and enology labs.
• Support scale‑up and commercialization efforts and present a project to management at internship end.
