Job summary

E. & J. Gallo Winery seeks a Harvest Laboratory Intern to immerse in winemaking operations and work with production, laboratory, and winemaking teams.

You will assist in lab blends, run fining trials, and monitor wine health to support high-quality production. The internship offers hands-on experience analyzing grapes, juice, and wine, and requires 18+ years, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at a college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Sciences, or Engineering (Biomedical, Biological, Environmental, Industrial or Chemical Engineering).
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and reliable vehicle, where applicable.
• Requires driving to multiple winery locations and lifting up to 45 lbs.
• Must be 18 or older; some roles require 21 or older and ability to climb stairs and ladders to heights.

Responsibilities

• Assist in lab blends and fining trials to support wine production quality.
• Monitor wine health and perform sampling in the analytical laboratory.
• Conduct analyses of grapes, juice, and wine, measuring yeast, bacteria, Brix, alcohol, pH, TA, free and total SO2, RS, ML, VA, NH3, and NOPA.
• Sample tanks and barrels to monitor fermentations and ensure standards are met.
• Complete a project demonstrating skills and insights during the internship.
