Job summary

Quality Food Centers is seeking a Wine Steward in Sammamish, WA to create outstanding customer experiences through wine knowledge and service. You will assist customers, maintain product recommendations, and support department goals under the Kroger family. The role requires 21+ and a background in wine and retail environment.

This position emphasizes safety, temperature control, and collaboration with culinary partners for tastings and events, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Second language skills (reading/writing)
• Knowledge of imported and domestic wines and flavor profiles
• Knowledge of wine/beers industry trends as relates to consumers
• Experience working with wine and beer products
• Retail experience in a consumer setting
• Must be 21 years of age
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of basic math
• Must pass wine test when employed

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Answer customer questions about products in the department and store
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and make recommendations
• Offer product samples per guidelines and applicable laws
• Inform customers of wine specials and availability
• Provide customers with products they request and assist with pairing wine
• Collaborate with the store chef for wine tastings and programs
• Stay current with ads, promotions, and seasonal offers
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and log temperatures
• Report safety risks or incidents and notify management
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
