Job summary

Kroger Bothell seeks a Wine Department Associate to deliver outstanding customer experiences and maintain a safe, inviting environment. You will assist the department manager in reaching sales goals while upholding quality standards and the Customer 1st strategy.

You will gain knowledge of wine varieties, help customers with pairings, and collaborate with store chefs on tastings and events, all while staying current with ads and promotions.

Qualifications

• Second language proficiency in speaking, reading and/or writing.
• Knowledge of imported and domestic wine varieties and flavor profiles.
• Knowledge of industry trends in specialty wines and beers.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Pass wine test once employed.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to inquiries with informed suggestions.
• Offer product samples in line with guidelines to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers of wine specials and promotions.
• Recommend wine items and pairings to meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with store chef for tastings and wine programs.
• Stay current with ads and seasonal promotions.
• Maintain proper temperatures and temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety procedures and report hazards.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Notify management of accidents and any safety or fraudulent activity.
