Wine Industry Expo is seeking a knowledgeable Wine Steward to join our retail team. The role focuses on guiding customers in wine selections, providing detailed product knowledge, and conducting engaging wine demos to promote sales.

Requirements include retail experience, strong communication, wine knowledge, and the ability to upsell while maintaining excellent service. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus, with an emphasis on teamwork and store presentation.

Qualifications

• Retail experience in grocery or specialty foods
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Knowledge of wine products and pairings
• Experience with POS systems and cash handling
• Ability to upsell while maintaining service
• Bilingual abilities are a plus
• Supervisory experience is advantageous
• Familiarity with grocery store operations and stock management

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting wines with knowledge and recommendations
• Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers on wine options
• Upsell products to enhance customer experience and sales
• Maintain attractive merchandising and signage in the wine section
• Operate POS systems and handle transactions accurately
• Manage inventory and coordinate with suppliers as needed
• Provide excellent customer service and phone etiquette
• Support supervising staff and daily wine department operations
• Perform cashier duties efficiently and accurately
