Job summary

Whaling Bar in La Jolla, CA is seeking a Server/Manager to deliver exceptional hospitality and wine service in a fast-paced setting. You will be responsible for menu knowledge, guest engagement, and efficient order handling to ensure memorable experiences.

The ideal candidate demonstrates charisma, professional demeanor, and fluency in wine and beverage knowledge, with a commitment to accuracy in order entry and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Full menu knowledge, selling items, and curating the best guest experience.
• Take guests' food and beverage orders, use sales techniques, and make recommendations.
• Always read your guests when making suggestions.
• Input orders into POS system accurately.
• Have a strong knowledge of our wine list and be prepared to answer questions.
• Open all wine and champagne bottles using proper wine service techniques.
• Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests.
• Interact in courteous and professional manner with guests, supervisors, and co-workers.
• Act with integrity and alert management to any and all issues that may arise.
