Job summary

Sotheby’s International is seeking a Retail Wine Store Assistant in New York to help sell wine, process client orders, and analyze purchase history for sales opportunities.

You will assist in day-to-day store operations, receive and merchandise wine, and support buying/receiving activities. Overtime and weekend shifts may be required, with a discretionary bonus and benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Able to load and unload wine cases up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to learn proprietary POS and website system.
• Flexibility to work overtime during the busy holiday season.
• Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends.
• Trustworthy, reliable, detail oriented, and discreet.

Responsibilities

• Assist in retail store operations including opening, greeting clients, answering phones.
• Receive wine from suppliers at the store.
• Restock shelves and assist with store merchandising.
• Maintain store appearance and apply barcodes to bottles.
• Analyze purchase history and inventory to identify sales opportunities.
• Prepare outreach emails and create templates.
• Create items and POs in the ERP system.
• Inspect and confirm new arrivals at the warehouse or store.
