Job summary

ARVA in New York City is seeking a thoughtful Sommelier to work with our Wine Director and Head Sommelier to select wine offerings, educate our team, and elevate guest service in a fine dining setting.

You will help build a wine list with an Italian focus and collaborate on pairings, supervise service, manage the cellar, and train staff. The role offers an hourly rate of 16.50 plus tips.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of global wine regions (Old and New World) with producer familiarity.
• Experience as a sommelier or wine steward.
• Ability to create and recommend food and wine pairings.
• Excellent communication and guest service in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in selecting wine offerings with the Wine Director and Head Sommelier.
• Educate staff on wine programs and tasting notes.
• Maintain wine cellar organization and stock levels.
• Recommend wines to guests and guide pairings with menu items.
• Ensure service standards and proper glassware and temperatures.
