• Maintain security best practices including system hardening and vulnerability management.
• Produce documentation for system configurations, procedures, and change controls.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Windows System Administrator to join our contract IT team. The ideal candidate will have 5 7 years of hands‑on experience managing Windows environments and a strong understanding of SQL databases. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing our Windows-based infrastructure and supporting SQL systems that are critical to business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows patching.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Implement, support, and maintain backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery plans.
• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server environments.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and scripts for system automation and reporting.
• Collaborate with development and application teams to ensure system compatibility and performance.
• Collaborate with customers, adjacent technical teams, and all levels of management to address systems issues.
• Maintain security best practices, including system hardening and vulnerability management.
• Produce documentation for system configurations, procedures, and change controls.

Must-Have Technical Skills:

• 5 7 years of experience in Windows system administration in mid to large-scale environments.
• Active Directory management.
• Maintenance of VMware and Windows systems.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (installation, maintenance, scripting, performance tuning).
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.
• High level of familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, and Nutanix).
• Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes.
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Hybrid Server Administrator or Administrator Associate.
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree.
