Job summary

Donnelly & Moore Corporation seeks a skilled Windows System Administrator contractor for a 12+ month hybrid assignment in the Bronx, NY. The role requires 5–7 years of hands-on Windows experience, with strong AD, VMware, Windows Server, SQL Server and PowerShell skills.

The selected candidate will maintain, secure, and optimize our Windows-based infrastructure and support SQL systems critical to business operations, with a focus on security, backup and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of hands-on Windows administration in mid to large-scale environments.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (installation, maintenance, scripting, performance tuning).
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V and Nutanix).
• Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
• ITIL practices and change management knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows patching; monitor performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Implement, support and maintain backup/recovery solutions and disaster recovery plans.
• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server environments; write and optimize SQL queries for automation and reporting.
• Collaborate with development and application teams to ensure system compatibility and performance.
• Collaborate with customers and management to address system issues.
• Maintain security best practices, including hardening and vulnerability management.
• Produce documentation for system configurations, procedures, and change controls.

Our Utility Client in the Bronx, NY is looking for a 12+month HYBRID Windows Administrator contractor to come onsite 2-3 days a week. Must be strong with AD, VMWare, Windows, SQL Server and PowerShell.

Interview Process: MS Teams and then 2nd round FTF interview. MUST BE LOCAL CANDIDATE

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Windows System Administrator to join our contract IT team. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of hands-on experience managing Windows environments and a strong understanding of SQL databases. Qualifications:
