Job summary

Donnelly- is seeking a skilled Windows System Administrator for a 12+ month hybrid contract in the Bronx, NY. The role requires hands-on experience managing Windows environments, AD, VMware, and SQL Server.

You will work on-site 2-3 days per week, collaborate with IT teams, ensure security, backups, DR plans, and produce documentation. Strong PowerShell scripting and ITIL familiarity are a plus; must be local to NYC area.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of Windows system administration in mid to large environments.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (installation, maintenance, scripting, performance tuning).
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows patching. Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues. Implement and maintain backup/recovery and DR plans. Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server environments; write and optimize SQL queries.
• Collaborate with development and application teams to ensure system compatibility and performance.
• Collaborate with customers, adjacent teams and management to address systems issues.
• Maintain security best practices, including system hardening and vulnerability management.
• Produce documentation for system configurations, procedures, and change controls.
