Job summary

BDO USA in Rosemont, IL is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, optimize, and secure the firm’s core enterprise infrastructure. You will drive installation, performance tuning, management, and monitoring of all Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and cloud-hybrid subsystems.

The role requires strong server administration skills, virtualization experience, and the ability to work after hours with up to 25% travel. A related bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma / GED, required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, preferred
• Three+ years of hands-on experience administering and managing large-scale server environments (50+ endpoints), required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (System Center), EMS and/or Active Directory, preferred
• One+ year of experience leading projects, preferred
• Prior experience with on premise SAN/NAS and virtual storage (VMware ESXi), preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains servers and storage systems
• Analyzes and troubleshoots system issues
• Performs and coordinates server replacements and builds
• Monitors, manages and maintains Active Directory
• Assists with setting technology strategies
• Acts as technical resource for the PMO
• Completes and upgrades system documentation
• Some virtualization experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware
• Basic networking (DNS/DHCP) and firewall skills a plus
• Work after hours and up to 25% travel
