Job summary

Rex Moore in Reno, NV is seeking a Technical Support Technician to maintain and support the IT infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Windows environments, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals.

You will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, assist with Windows servers, AD security, and Office 365, while working under the IT leadership to ensure stable daily operations and process improvements. This role offers growth and hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Windows 10 & Windows 11 workstation environments.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory (AD) user and group management.
• Knowledge of Windows Server 2019+ administration, security policies, and access controls.
• Basic networking knowledge, including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and authentication protocols.
• Experience with ITSM ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or ManageEngine.
• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for basic administrative tasks.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills to resolve Windows-related and network issues.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, ensuring professional support interactions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple support requests.
• Attention to security and domain governance in an enterprise Windows environment.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• 2+ years of IT support experience in a Windows networking environment.
• Certifications such as M365 Modern Desktop Administrator and CompTIA Network+ are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 support for Windows 10 & 11 workstations, including setup and troubleshooting.
• Manage Active Directory users, groups, and access permissions.
• Assist with Windows Server 2019+ authentication and security policies.
• Troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network access issues.
• Support Office 365 applications and integration with Windows.
• Monitor and enforce IT security policies and user access controls.
• Perform device imaging, software installations, and updates with IT leadership.
• Maintain stable Windows desktops and laptops across the environment.
• Utilize ITSM tools for ticket tracking and reporting.
• Assist with patch management and timely OS/software updates.
• Collaborate with IT leadership on domain-related issues and improvements.
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
