Job summary

JobCenter in Washington is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join our team. The role requires clear communication with customers, hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting, and the ability to install and configure systems.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, at least two years in IT support, strong Windows OS knowledge (Windows 7/8/10) and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in technical support or IT helpdesk role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Operating Systems 7, 8, 10 and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with troubleshooting hardware components such as desktops, laptops, printers etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone, email or in-person to customers and clients
• Troubleshoot software and hardware issues related to computer systems
• Install and configure computer systems and software
• Perform maintenance tasks such as disk cleanups, updates and virus scans
• Communicate effectively with customers to understand their technical issues and provide solutions
• Train customers on how to use new software or hardware systems
• Document all technical support activities for future reference
• Collaborate with other team members to resolve complex technical issues
• Stay updated on the latest technology trends and advancements in the field of computer support
