Job summary

The City of New York, through the NYC Financial Information Services Agency - Office of Payroll Administration, seeks an IT Intern in the Technical Services group to support Windows 11 environment maintenance, patching, and endpoint security in an enterprise setting.

The role provides hands-on experience with Ivanti and SCCM/MECM, PowerShell, and Excel data analysis under guidance of senior IT staff. Part-time hours apply with potential extension when school is not in session.

Qualifications

• For Assignment Level I, matriculation in college or grad school is required.
• For Assignment Level II, IT-related study and credits are required while enrolled.
• For Assignment Level III, IT-related study with 9 credits is required; appointment via Technology Steering Committee.

Responsibilities

• Learn to manage Windows environment under guidance of senior IT staff.
• Assist in endpoint management and patching using Ivanti/SCCM.
• Analyze software inventory and hardware health with Excel.
• Monitor patch deployments to ensure device security.
• Assist in deploying software updates and hardware refreshes.
• Develop basic PowerShell scripts for data collection.
• Document troubleshooting steps and create how-to guides.
