Job summary

HP is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to drive end-to-end Windows software readiness for Advanced Compute Solutions desktop workstations. You will own the Windows OS integration and oversee schedule execution, release readiness, and cross-functional alignment across engineering, ODMs, and factory operations.

The role requires managing Windows image and driver enablement, coordinating with PMs, OS engineering, BIOS/FW, and validation teams, and ensuring timely RTM deliveries.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering discipline.
• Typically 0–2 years of work experience in systems engineering, programming, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own Windows OS readiness for desktop workstation refresh programs from bring-up to RTM.
• Drive Windows image, driver, application, recovery, and firmware enablement across teams.
• Define and manage Windows scope, milestones, and dependencies with the refresh schedule.
• Serve as Windows representative coordinating with PM, OS Engineering, BIOS/FW, Validation, Factory, and ODM teams.
• Lead technical alignment to resolve integration gaps and risks on refresh programs.
• Own Windows issue resolution, tracking, and closure; drive tiger teams for critical issues.
• Ensure Windows validation and readiness for RTM, web packages, Windows Update readiness, and recovery media.
