Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned IT administrator to manage Windows and thin-client environments in a DoD-adjacent setting. You will oversee MECM, GPOs, patching, and security policies while supporting Citrix StoreFront, VMware Horizon, and Azure Virtual Desktop flings.

A TS clearance with SCI eligibility and 5+ years’ Windows experience are required. You will also deploy firmware, BIOS updates, and WES imaging, while ensuring DoD CTO-aligned compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Active TS Clearance with SCI Eligibility is required.
• CompTIA Security+ (IAT Level II or Higher) is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Windows Administration.
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems, Aria, and installation, configuration, and administration.
• Experience with ThinOS 8.x/9.x, Windows Embedded Standard, WES imaging, firmware deployment, and BIOS updates.
• Experience creating and deploying GPOs and policy at various levels.
• Experience with Citrix, VMware, RDP, Citrix StoreFront, VMware Horizon, and Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Experience deploying and updating software packages on Windows Embedded clients.
• Experience providing endpoint hardware support and resolving connectivity issues.
• Experience implementing device lockdown and security policies, USB redirection, and Active Directory/SAML authentication.
• Experience in a 24/7 military or government IT environment.
• Knowledge of systems software, hardware, and networking protocols.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Preferred: Ports Protocols and Security Measures; Scripting and automation tools.

Job description

• Manage Windows and thin client environments using MECM, Wyse Management Suite, 10ZiG Manager, and HP Web Jetadmin
• Configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
• Maintain systems to ensure they are current, secure, and properly maintained
• Manage software distribution, antivirus updates, and patch management
• Optimize system performance to minimize disruptions and ensure operational efficiency
• Review and validate work completed by teammates and junior engineers, as appropriate
• Register, configure, and manage thin clients running ThinOS, ThinLinux, and Windows Embedded Standard
• Pull, push, and update firmware and images to devices, including BIOS updates
• Create and deploy security, display, keyboard, and VDI-brokering policies
• Integrate thin clients with Citrix StoreFront, VMware Horizon, and Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop
• Deploy and update software packages on Windows Embedded clients
• Provide technical support for endpoint hardware, perform remote shadowing, and resolve connectivity issues
• Implement device lockdown policies, configure USB redirection, and set up Active Directory/SAML authentication
• Provide advanced end-user support for virtual desktops, applications, and connectivity
• Provide Tier-III assistance to maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize hardware, software, and network components
• Perform regular maintenance of physical IT equipment to ensure compliance with applicable Cyber Tasking Orders (CTOs)
• Maintain service on devices configured according to DoD security policies
• Troubleshoot and correct system and network faults or outages
• Investigate and resolve issues; perform and document necessary equipment repairs
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies
• Collaborate with IT teams and departments to integrate and support IT solutions
• Communicate clearly and succinctly in writing and orally; present products and ideas in a business-like manner
• Perform administrative and engineering functions in the service design domain
• Provide escalated support for problem management
