Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a cybersecurity software engineer to rapidly develop tools for Windows and Linux endpoints, identify vulnerabilities, and manage virtual environments. You will work with C, C++, .NET, and Python across cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP, while supporting both red and blue team operations.

The role requires active Top Secret clearance, potential CI polygraph, and a strong background in vulnerability analysis, network topology, and open-source tooling.

Qualifications

• Active TS or higher security clearance required.
• Willingness and ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
• Experience ladder: Junior 2+ years (BS/BA) or 6+ years without; Mid 6+ years (BS/BA) or 10+ without; Senior 10+ years (BS/BA) or 14+ without.

Responsibilities

• Support Rapid Application Development for offensive and defensive cybersecurity tools.
• Rapidly develop and prototype tools for Windows and Linux endpoints.
• Perform software engineering using C, C++, .NET, Python, and other industry-standard languages.
• Identify vulnerabilities in network, host, and web application endpoints through open-source research and manual analysis.
• Use open-source penetration testing tools.
• Analyze endpoint persistence mechanisms and support user- and kernel-level activities.
• Develop and analyze network topologies and secured networks.
• Configure and manage complex network environments.
• Administer covert and virtualized systems.
• Create, manage, and deploy virtual environments using VMware, Proxmox, KVM/qemu, and similar tools.
• Support VPN, proxy, and tunnel management and configuration.
• Apply knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, and similar cloud environments.
• Leverage red team and blue team operational expertise to advance mission objectives.
• Think independently and take initiative on new tasks.

• Expertise in endpoint persistence mechanisms
• Ability to create, manage, and deploy virtual environments using VMware, Proxmox, KVM/qemu, or similar tools
• Strong understanding of networking, network topologies, and internet routing
• Experience with VPN, proxy, and tunnel management and configuration
• Software engineering experience with C, C++, .NET, and Python
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, and similar cloud platforms
• Ability to think independently and take initiative
