Position Title: Windows Administration & Lab Engineer – Lead
Location: Redmond, WA
Infrastructure & Lab Environment Management
- Build, maintain, and support secure lab environments for Windows development, testing, validation, and deployment readiness.
- Perform rack-and-stack activities, structured cabling, port mapping, power validation, and environmental readiness checks.
- Manage PDU, KVM, networking, server onboarding, and hardware deployment activities.
- Coordinate lab moves, expansions, hardware refreshes, and facility-related changes.
- BIOS/Firmware updates
- RAID/NIC configuration
- BMC/iDRAC/iLO administration
- Hardware diagnostics and replacement
- OS provisioning and imaging through PXE/MDT and golden images
- Support Windows Server and Windows Client environments used by engineering teams.
Test Infrastructure Support
- Maintain production-quality test labs supporting:
- Windows Client
- Windows Server
- Fundamentals / ServPerf
- FunGates
- Compat Discovery Operations
- Ensure machines, controllers, pools, and test environments remain operational and ready for validation activities.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, deployment, controller, replication, and lab infrastructure issues.
- Drive RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and corrective actions for recurring problems.
- Coordinate Sev incidents and operational escalations with Microsoft engineering teams.
Lab Operations Responsibilities
Operational Ownership
- Own day-to-day lab operations and service delivery.
- Ensure operational monitoring, patching, backup/recovery, and service availability.
- Maintain SLA compliance and operational reporting.
Asset & Inventory Management
- Manage:
- Hardware inventory
- Asset tracking
- Equipment checkout/return
- Device onboarding
- Asset audits
- Hardware relocation and disposal
- Ensure inventory accuracy and audit readiness.
Compliance & Security
- Ensure alignment with Microsoft Compliance Framework (MCF).
- Maintain auditability, security controls, access management, and lab governance.
- Coordinate security reviews, access requests, and change approvals.
Change & Release Management
- Plan and execute:
- Infrastructure migrations
- Hardware refreshes
- Lab relocations
- Server transitions
- Deployment readiness activities
- Document changes and obtain stakeholder approvals.
The pay range for this role is $85,000 - $90,000*per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
