Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Subject Matter Expert for the Manufacturing Technical Group to provide technical expertise across winders and finishing assets at North American facilities. The role requires strong collaboration with hourly and salaried staff and cross-functional teams.

The qualified candidate will lead improvements, support new assets, mentor personnel, and coordinate outages while leveraging SAP and PI ProcessBook for data-driven decisions. Travel up to 75% is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience with paper-making equipment and processes.
• Ability to read P&ID’s, layout and mechanical drawings.
• Proven ability to lead, communicate with, and mentor manufacturing teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% depending on project.

Responsibilities

• Act as Change Agents with hourly and salaried personnel to identify improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate efforts to return asset performance to optimized base case with support.
• Support installation, commissioning, and optimization of assets.
• Assist asset owners in prioritizing improvement opportunities.
• Develop standardized operating and maintenance strategies with capability teams.
• Mentor hourly and salaried personnel at facilities and corporate engineering.
• Plan outage activities with operations to achieve results.
• Apply SME knowledge to support short-term technical requests.
• Support trials of new process technology and assess applicability.
