Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Paper Technical Center within the Manufacturing Technical Group. You will provide technical expertise across North America facilities and work with both hourly and salary staff. Domestic travel is required on a regular basis.

The role emphasizes diagnosing root causes, leading improvements, and developing expertise in others, with opportunities to mentor teams and support asset optimization across sites.

Qualifications

10-year combined experience in manufacturing/engineering roles supporting paper making operations.
Strong understanding of paper making equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

Identify improvement opportunities for processes and equipment at production sites.
Review maintenance and downtime data to identify equipment repairs or reconfigurations.
Lead and coordinate efforts to optimize asset performance with internal teams and third parties.
Support installation, commissioning, and optimization of new assets.
Mentor hourly and salaried engineering and operations personnel.
Assist in planning outage activities to achieve desired results.
Provide technical support across multiple facilities.
