Winder Operator – Yarn Handling & Process Improvement

Job summary

Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 500 global flooring leader, seeks a hands-on yarn winding and handling associate. You will check and sort yarn, rewind on Gilbos and Backwinder, place tubes on winders, wind packages, and perform general housekeeping. Training will be provided; strict adherence to SOPs is required to maintain production quality.

The role supports Mohawk’s broad portfolio of brands and manufacturing operations worldwide, with opportunities to grow in a large, global supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Check and sort all return yarn from Tufting.
• Rewind yarn on Gilbos and Backwinder.
• Place empty tube on winder.
• Wind packages, sent from winder assistant, onto tube.
• Doff full packages and place in yarn box for Tufting.
• Fan off winder.
• Aspirate all skinners ½ inches or less.
• Inspect, sort, and dispose of damaged tubes.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating procedures
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management
