Job summary

Avangrid Power seeks a Wind Turbine Technician to operate and maintain wind turbine equipment at a generation plant. You will lead in-site operations, perform repairs, and support maintenance as directed by the Plant Manager.

The role requires experience or training in wind technology, ability to travel 10–15%, and willingness to work overtime/on-call on short notice while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (i.e. voltage testers, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, infrared testers, hydraulic torque equipment, alignment and various hand and power tools).
• Advanced computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control, management and reporting systems, including the use of computerized diagnostic, and troubleshooting tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
• Perform parts repair or replacement per OEM specs.
• Comply with project environmental health and safety programs.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals.
• Prepare reports and data for wind plant reporting.
