Job summary

Siemens Gamesa is seeking a Wind Service Technician to ensure safe, reliable operation and maintenance of wind turbines at the Primghar site. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while climbing turbine towers as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, accurate record-keeping, and collaboration with the on-site team to maximize energy production and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is a plus.
• Previous wind turbine maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems; troubleshooting skills.
• Safety knowledge including LOTO procedures and safe work practices.
• Ability to climb wind turbine towers and work in varied weather conditions; weight limit of 265 pounds or less.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance checks, inspections, and lubrication of turbine components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on turbines.
• Adhere to safety protocols and provide safety training as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and performance data.
• Climb wind turbine towers for inspections and repairs.
• Replace worn or damaged turbine components as required.
