Job summary

Siemens Gamesa seeks a Lead Technician to oversee the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of wind turbines. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, with tower climbs for inspections as needed.

This role emphasizes safety, record-keeping, and teamwork, with opportunities to contribute to the wind farm’s reliability and performance. A high school diploma, with preferred related field credentials, is required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree is a plus.
• Background: Wind turbine maintenance or power generation experience preferred but not required.
• Safety: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
• Technical: Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems; troubleshooting abilities.
• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Physical: Ability to climb wind turbine towers and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
• Other: Must meet body weight restrictions; valid driver's license and DMV checks required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance checks, inspections, and lubrication on wind turbine components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on wind turbines.
• Follow safety protocols and provide safety training when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and performance data.
• Climb turbine towers to inspect, diagnose and repair components.
• Replace or repair worn or damaged turbine components.
