Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to operate, maintain and repair wind turbine equipment at the Tiskilwa, IL site. You will handle electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems with preventive maintenance and data reporting.

Occasional travel to other sites is required, roughly 10-15% of the time. The ideal candidate has at least a year of related wind industry experience or a technical certificate, able to lift and climb towers, and capable of working in varied weather

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment.
• Advanced computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control, management and reporting systems, including the use of computerized diagnostic, and troubleshooting tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure including substation, collection, and transmission systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with variable pitch and speed control systems.
• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs following manufacturers' requirements.
• Conduct preventive maintenance per OEM manuals and collect data for reporting.
• Support construction walkthroughs if applicable and assist with QA/QC tasks.
