Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to oversee onsite operations, maintenance, and repairs at a wind-powered generation plant in Shenandoah, PA. The role leads plant operations under the Plant Manager’s direction and determines technician level based on experience and education.

The position requires climbing turbines, handling high and medium voltage work, and complying with safety/environmental standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; plus 1-year college/technical cert or wind-industry training.
• Maintenance and testing equipment experience preferred (voltage testers, oscilloscopes, infrared testers).
• Able to climb towers up to 100 meters and lift up to 60–100 lbs; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals and safety programs.
• Complete QA/QC tasks and assist with construction walk-downs as needed.
• Travel to additional sites 10–15% and support on-call schedule.
