Job summary

PPM TECHNICAL SERVICES, INC in Rosamond, CA seeks a Wind Turbine Technician to oversee onsite operations, maintenance, and repairs at a wind power plant.

The role leads in plant operations per Plant Manager, working across mechanical, electrical, and control systems, following OEM guidelines and safety standards. Willingness to travel and ability to climb towers are required, with opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment.
• Advanced computer skills for reporting and diagnostics.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily for maintenance.
• Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 60 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work with electrical wires and differentiate color coded wires.
• Ability to interpret and follow written/oral/instructional schedules.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Repair or replace mechanical and electrical components per OEM requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals.
• Support QA/QC and report wind plant data.
• Travel 10–15% to other sites as needed.
• Comply with environmental health and safety programs.
• Adhere to internal controls and documentation standards.
