Job summary

Nordex SE in Michigan is seeking a Service Technician I to ensure the safe, efficient operation of wind turbine generators and support the company’s renewable energy goals.

You will perform routine maintenance, assist with troubleshooting under guidance, and help prepare reports, parts, and tools while adhering to strict safety standards. The role requires teamwork, physical fitness, and willingness to travel up to 10% for site coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; wind energy or engineering education preferred.
• 0-2 years in wind energy, industrial maintenance, or related field.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and working at heights.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather and on-call shifts.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine wind turbine maintenance and basic repairs following procedures.
• Assist troubleshooting under guidance of experienced technicians.
• Complete maintenance reports, track activities, and manage service tickets
• Support inventory and material management, including parts and tools.
• Prepare tools, materials, and documentation for scheduled work.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE inspections and incident reporting.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and turbine performance.
• Collaborate with team members and support other site operations as needed.
