Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is hiring a Wind Farm Technician Associate to support the operation and maintenance of wind farms and related facilities. You will perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot electromechanical systems, and assist with turbine service and substation tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) and 2+ years in power generation or related maintenance, with a valid driver license and willingness to relocate within an hour of the site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's degree in sciences or a related field preferred
• 2-year or 4-year college degree in a technical science like engineering, physics, power, or closely similar
• Current journeyman or master electrician license preferred
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in operations and/or maintenance in power generation, transmission and/or distribution
• Vestas V120 experience preferred
• Unrestricted driver license in good standing
• Willing to relocate to within 1 hour drive of site
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electromechanical systems with solid foundation in theory of operation
• Read, interpret, and follow electrical, mechanical, & hydraulic circuit drawings
• Identify energy isolation points and implement LOTO for protection
• Knowledge of power electronics, motor drives, AC/DC converters
• Good communication and teamwork; safety-focused

Responsibilities

• Ensure all operations and maintenance activities are performed safely per site policies
• Assist in acceptance and performance tests on systems and equipment
• Perform wind farm tasks and provide backup to other sites as needed
• Assist turbine maintenance including services and component work
• Assist Balance of Plant procedures including substation maintenance
