Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Wind Technician for the Gunsight Mountain Wind Energy Center in Big Spring, TX. The role handles operating and maintaining wind turbines, performs routine mechanical and electrical tasks, and climbs towers with safety gear.

The position requires a High School Diploma, 1 year of technical experience or education, ability to work outdoors in all weather, and the capacity to lift up to 45 kg. A valid US driver’s license and work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of technical experience or education.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights >80 m.
• Able to move and lift up to 45 kg (100 lb).
• Weight limit 120 kg (265 lb) excluding gear.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and related equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily with safety equipment to inspect, maintain, or repair.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of wind turbine components.
• Troubleshoot faults and replace components as needed.
• Maintain tooling, facilities and a safe work environment.
• Work a 40-hour week with scheduled/unScheduled overtime during peak periods.
