Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Wind Technician to support turbine operations at multiple IL wind sites. The role requires local travel within the hub and daily field work maintaining and repairing wind turbine components to ensure safety and performance.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues, performing maintenance and documenting work with service reports. Candidates should have wind experience or related training and basic computer skills, with a valid

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year of Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic experience or completion of Wind Certificate Program/Associate’s Degree in Energy.
• Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment is required.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Work with site and hub leadership to execute obligations per customer requirements and daily activities on electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbines.
• Perform maintenance, repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch and variable speed turbines.
• Assist in all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision and in accordance with safety requirements.
• Perform diagnostic electrical analysis as needed.
• Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures.
• Coordinate with GE’s remote operations center when necessary.
