Job summary

Invenergy in Miami is seeking a Wind Technician to operate and maintain the Miami Energy Center. You will perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine equipment, and climb turbine towers with safety gear to inspect, repair, or replace components.

The role requires a high school diploma, as well as hands-on technical experience, ability to work outdoors in inclement weather, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1 year of technical experience or education in mechanical/electrical fields preferred.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders and heights.
• Willingness to pass drug testing.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime; hours vary during peak maintenance periods
