Job summary

Southern Power seeks a Wind Deputy Site Manager to oversee daily operations at Bethel Wind Facility, a 276 MW wind farm in Castro County, Texas. You will lead a small team of technicians and contractors and develop operating procedures to improve safety and efficiency.

You will monitor performance, ensure safety, manage M&O contracts, and report on environmental and regulatory metrics while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• 5–7 years of relevant wind energy experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and database applications.
• Commitment to Safety Excellence and Human Performance.
• Ability to climb turbine towers up to 110 meters up to 5–10 times per week.
• Understand and comply with ANSI Fall Protection Standards.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and extreme conditions.
• Weight must be at or below 270 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure on-site activities are conducted in a safety-conscious manner.
• Manage operations and maintenance for balance-of-plant assets.
• Oversee facility operations and maintenance contracts.
• Manage warranties as applicable.
• Facilitate reporting per safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
• Monitor facility performance against KPIs.
• Engage internal and external resources as needed.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers and service entities.
• Monitor generating equipment for function and repairs.
• Maintain quality electronic communication at each facility.
• Ensure adoption of best practices and high work standards.
• Monitor contractor performance and enforce safety training.
• Ensure site environmental regulation compliance.
• Additional duties as required.
