Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Site Manager to lead a service site in the Lakota area, IA. You will oversee safety, contracts, and service technicians, driving continuous improvement and stakeholder satisfaction.

The role requires travel, leadership of technical teams, and strong operational oversight to meet the site’s financial and safety objectives. The successful candidate will manage safety programs, coordinate with customer contacts, optimize operations, and ensure compliance with site policies while

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead an operation with a high delegation of responsibility to team members.
• P&L management experience with advanced wind service experience.
• Experience or familiarity with spare parts/inventory processes.
• Experience as a leader of a field-deployed technician team with responsibility for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Experience managing safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical, Fall Arrest & High Angle Emergency Decent, and Confined Space.
• Ability to complete all training requirements (Internal Training/Certificate Requirements: Manager Core Training, Leader of Others Training).
• Ability to manage and audit safe working conditions to Vestas standards (i.e. internal audits, OSHA requirements).
• Requires travel and may require working a flexible and variable work schedule as needed to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage all safety practices and protocols within Vestas's standards to ensure compliance and optimal safety results.
• Create and maintain a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the site organization.
• Responsible for the site safety HSE program and compliance.
• Ensure access to safety alerts and inform QSE of safety concerns.
• Complete safety training and schedule upcoming training requirements.
• Utilize PPE as required and provide input for discrepancies in Instructions or PPE Sheets.
• Manage site capacity planning and LEAN implementation.
• Develop and execute continuous improvement plan.
• Build partnerships with customers and internal departments to resolve concerns and meet contractual obligations.
• Understand site budget, cost allocations, and overall financial health.
• Input data across systems (Salesforce, SAP, MyTask, CIM, etc.) and interpret financial reports.
• Support T&M targets by identifying opportunities and managing projects.
• Ensure inventory usage and tooling control align with financial impact and escalate when needed.
• Access and use online tools and dashboards to monitor metrics.
• Ensure team compliance with Task Based Certifications (TBC) and obtain for self as needed.
• Direct team to follow engineering guidance; propose adjustments to Work Instructions when needed.
• Communicate via TSL & CIR and escalate when necessary.
• Understand and communicate the site contract (SMA); escalate concerns to area manager.
• Manage specialty projects and develop a personal development plan with SOM.
