Job summary

PPM Technical Services, Inc. in Encino, NM is seeking a Wind Plant Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of a utility-scale wind facility.

You will manage budgets, safety programs, and coordinate outages with interconnect entities while guiding a team to meet prudent utility practices. The role requires a four-year degree or technical certificate (or 5 years in power), tower access, strong computer skills, and experience with CMMS or similar systems; valid license and ability

Qualifications

• Four year college degree or technical school certificate; or 5 years of related experience or power industry training.
• Demonstrated experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
• Ability to climb 80 meter steel towers on a daily basis to perform maintenance.
• Weight must not exceed 285 lbs (excluding equipment/gear).
• Advanced computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control, management and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensures strict management and compliance of environmental, health and safety programs.
• Ensures crew receives periodic safety training and conducts safety assessments.
• Negotiates and administers 3rd party contracts.
• Administers warranties and capital improvement programs.
• Manages operations, maintenance and warranty activities of wind plant equipment.
• Prepares annual budget and monthly profit and loss reporting.
• Reviews root cause analyses of major failures and develops corrective actions.
• Performs staff coaching, training and performance evaluations.
