Job summary

PacifiCorp, based in Laramie, WY, seeks a Wind Environmental Supervisor to lead technicians and contract crews in implementing wildlife and avian programs for wind facilities. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective operation.

You will supervise and train staff, manage budgets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and regulatory agencies to ensure environmental stewardship and project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Biological Sciences, Wildlife Biology or Environmental Sciences.
• Minimum five years of wildlife field experience, preferably related to energy generation.
• Minimum of three years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of environmental laws (BGEPA, MBTA, ESA) and wildlife considerations in wind energy.
• Ability to travel for site visits, trainings, audits and meetings.
• Ability to work safely in remote conditions and after-hours emergencies.
• Strong data gathering, analysis and interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with environmental and wildlife policies, procedures, permits and regulations.
• Oversee day-to-day work of wind environmental technicians and contractors, ensuring safety and budget adherence.
• Coordinate with leadership on implementation and compliance requirements.
• Hold staff accountable to safety, productivity and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee avian surveys, environmental monitoring and curtailment activities at wind facilities.
• Interview, hire, train and develop employees as assigned.
• Assist with scope of work, invoicing and budget reporting.
• Deliver training and guidance to operations staff and contractors.
