Job summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a Manager, Environmental to provide managerial and technical environmental support to Rocky Mountain Power and Pacific Power Transmission and Distribution operations. Lead permitting, compliance, and oversight of transmission and substation projects from planning through execution.

You will coordinate with T&D operations and regulators, mentor a team of environmental specialists, and ensure that all federal and state permits are secured and adhered to, including NEPA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or other applicable fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of experience in environmental/natural resources, preferably energy generation and federal permitting.
• 7–10+ years of experience directly related to environmental regulation.
• 3+ years direct people management experience.
• Demonstrated leadership with Federal and state agencies.
• Knowledge of environmental laws and NEPA.
• Experience in energy projects including transmission and substation projects.
• Proficient with PCs for data gathering and reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑department collaboration.
• Willingness to travel for site visits, trainings, audits, and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Manage Rocky Mountain Power and Pacific Power environmental lands team, supporting permitting, compliance, and oversight of transmission, distribution, and substation construction and operations.
• Collaborate with T&D operations to ensure compliance with environmental policies, permits and regulations.
• Communicate regularly with T&D Operations, environmental teams, other internal groups, and contractors.
• Coordinate with environmental leadership on implementation, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Review and implement permit conditions and company procedures.
• Ensure all Federal and State permits are in place and complied with.
• Oversee environmental work of employees and contractors to meet schedule, budget, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with Scope of Work documents, invoicing, budgeting, and reporting.
• Participate in team, public, or regulatory agency meetings.
• Engage with federal agencies (BLM, USFS) and state/local partners on T&D activities.
• Support environmental permitting for wildfire system hardening.
• Develop Operations and Maintenance Plans for power line rights-of-way with agencies.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to environmental staff across locations.
• Provide internal weekly, monthly, and other reporting.
