Job summary

Texas A&M Forest Service is seeking a Geospatial Analyst II to advance geospatial and data technologies, improving situational awareness and emergency response. You will develop data-driven solutions, perform complex analyses, automate workflows, and communicate insights to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, spatial sciences, emergency management, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in geospatial analysis or related fields; advanced degree may substitute.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with emphasis on geospatial data management and visualization.
• Working knowledge of relational databases.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related apps (Survey123, Field Maps, Experience Builder, Operations Dashboard).
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with Azure Functions and Logic Apps.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects; communicative with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop data-driven solutions to improve wildfire response and resource management.
• Perform advanced geospatial analyses for wildfire and natural resource challenges.
• Automate workflows to increase efficiency and response times.
• Communicate insights through reports, visualizations, and interactive platforms.
• Manage diverse data sources (tabular, vector, raster) to support analyses and applications.
• Collaborate with division and agency programs, and participate in geospatial working group.
• Support emergency response operations as needed, including extended hours/weekends.
