Job summary

Fort Wayne Zoo is seeking Wild Lights Associates to help transform the Zoo into an immersive nighttime attraction and support seasonal events. You will install, maintain, and remove decorative lighting and event infrastructure, assist with event setup and teardown, and participate in logistics and guest services in a fast-paced outdoor setting.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work at least 18 years of age.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
One year of event planning, hospitality, project management, sponsorship, or related work experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and removes decorative lighting, displays, and event infrastructure throughout the Zoo.
Assists with transformation of the Zoo into an immersive seasonal attraction through setup, staging, and décor installation.
Performs event tear‑down and safely stores materials, equipment, and decorations after the season.
Operates heavy machinery and powered equipment as required to unload, install, maintain, and remove elements.
Follows safety procedures and PPE requirements while performing duties.
Supports daily operation of seasonal events with logistics, crowd flow, and operational needs.
Provides friendly, professional guest service while interacting with guests, volunteers, vendors, and staff.
Collaborates with cross departmental teams to ensure successful event execution.
