Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a WiFi Subject Matter Expert to bridge wireless tech with data teams. You will maximize router data value, test and optimize WiFi in a smart home ecosystem, and produce comprehensive reports.

The role requires deep 802.11ac/ax knowledge, Python scripting, and shell scripting to validate CPE like TR-069 routers. Strong debugging and data processing skills with Spark are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with WiFi performance testing.
• Strong knowledge of 802.11ac/ax protocols.
• Ability to write automation scripts via Python.
• Experience with Python and Spark in data-intensive environments.
• Ability to write shell scripts to validate CPE (e.g., TR-069 routers).
• Familiarity with RF concepts and lab test equipment.
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP, L2 networking, and Wireshark.

Responsibilities

• Performance Testing & Validation: conduct WiFi performance testing, generate throughput, KPI, and other metrics.
• Automation & Scripting: write and customize automation and shell scripts to validate CPE such as TR-069 routers.
• Data-Intensive Collaboration: use Python and Spark to process metrics, compile test reports, and prepare presentations.
• Debugging & Root-Cause Analysis: use advanced debugging tools for root-cause analysis and bottleneck resolution.
• Continuous Innovation: learn/apply new technologies in data visualization and automation.

The Smart Home Analytics (SHA) team is seeking a WiFi Subject Matter Expert to bridge the knowledge gap between advanced wireless technologies and our data-focused team members. In this critical role, you will help maximize the value of router data collection and ensure deep wireless networking expertise is readily available.
