Job summary

Duncan-Parnell Inc. seeks a Service Field Engineer to support the Wide Format Printing division. You will install and train customers on printers/scanners, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment in top condition.

You will also manage parts inventory, verify issues before on-site visits, and share knowledge with the service team while driving company vehicles and using remote support tools as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree, technical school, or equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ solid employment references from relevant sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Mechanical ability.
  • PC operation.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Install and train customers on new or refurbished printers/scanners at the customer site.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot printing equipment to identify and fix issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as prescribed by manufacturers.
  • Manage inventory control of parts.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships and communicate pre-visit problem verification.
  • Attend manufacturer trainings and share knowledge with the service team.
  • Configure equipment defaults and settings per customer requirements.
  • Support Windows and Mac OS printers, drivers, and applications.

Job description

Description

The Service Field Engineer is responsible for supporting Duncan-Parnell’s Wide Format Printing division. Planning and coordinating activities related to printer equipment installations, investigating, and resolving customer reports of technical issues, and service to equipment are the primary roles.

  • Installation and training of new or refurbished printers and scanners at customer’s office to ensure full functionality and customer understanding of equipment operations.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot printing equipment to determine source of problem, perform break/fix repair.
  • Provide preventative maintenance keeping schedules as prescribed by printer manufacturers.
  • Manage inventory control of parts.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Interact with customers prior to on-site visits to verify potential problem and ensure correct parts are taken.
  • Attend manufacturer’s training classes and share knowledge with service team.
  • Configure printing equipment defaults and settings to customer requirements.
  • Working Knowledge of Windows including adding local and shared printers and installing, updating and removing print drivers and applications.
  • Working Knowledge of MAC OS including adding local and shared printers and installing, updating and removing print drivers and applications.
  • Ability to do start to finish end user training on printer equipment operation and applications and drivers
  • Ability to operate remote support tools to connect to clients and resolve issues.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull fifty pounds
  • Operation of a motor vehicle throughout the day as customer visits require.
  • Requires bending, kneeling and squatting to perform maintenance tasks
  • Ability to drive company work vehicles including 16’ Box truck.
