Job summary

Anne Arundel County Department of Health seeks a WIC program assistant to interview clients for eligibility and provide nutrition information under supervision. This full-time County Contractual role is based in Annapolis, MD with hours 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and travel as needed across the county.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and one year of health or human service experience; Spanish language ability is preferred. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Full-time County Contractual Open to all qualified candidates. Location: 3 Harry S. Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401 Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays

Job Description

Nature of Work:

Under the direction of the WIC nutritionist, conduct client interviews for WIC Program eligibility and perform certifications for WIC participants per state and federal regulations. Provide WIC health and nutrition information to participants and conduct health screenings, including height, weight and hemoglobin measurements (finger sticks). Other duties as assigned. Work duties may require travel to locations throughout the county.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).

Experience

One year of experience in health or human service delivery, performing tasks such as program eligibility determination, health screening, client referral services, or nutrition education.

Notes

Completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the experience requirement.

Desired Or Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in Spanish. WIC experience is preferred.
