Job summary

Adelante Healthcare in Surprise, AZ is seeking a WIC Community Nutrition Educator Float I to enroll applicants for the WIC program and provide nutrition education.

You will conduct health appraisals, promote breastfeeding, travel to multiple sites as needed, and document results in the AIM software system. Strong CPR/AED, a high school diploma or GED, and solid customer service are required. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• CPR and AED certification per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.
• Arizona DPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Proven customer service experience with ability to instruct clients at different levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant program applications.
• Competency in working with people of diverse cultures.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health appraisals and nutritional assessments and document in AIM software.
• Provide nutrition counseling, lactation support, and refer high-risk clients to a registered dietitian.
• Complete required documentation to determine WIC eligibility.
• Issue drafts and ensure proper documentation and signatures.
• Provide education, counseling, and referrals to clients; document activities.
• Handle routine office tasks and maintain filing and appointments; protect files.
• Manage customer service issues before escalation; travel to other sites as needed.
• Collect specimens and perform tests as indicated where applicable.
• Assist the WIC Program Regional Coordinator and Site Leader on projects.
