Job summary

Florida Department of Health is seeking a Nutrition Educator to deliver nutrition education and support services for the WIC program in Hernando County. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field, and experience with WIC programs is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the current science and practice of nutrition and dietetics.
• Ability to provide nutrition education to groups or individuals.
• Ability to develop and monitor nutrition education plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition education to clients enrolled in the WIC program.
• Certify clients for WIC participation per state policies.
• Develop and revise nutrition education plans for individuals.
• Plan and conduct group nutrition education classes.
• Provide breastfeeding education and referrals to the Breastfeeding Coordinator.
• Complete WIC reports and inventories.
