Job summary

Nevada Health Centers in Las Vegas is seeking a WIC Worker to handle front desk duties, assist participants with WIC paperwork, verify eligibility, and explain the EBT process. The role may relocate to other clinics as needed.

You will work with our team to ensure HIPAA compliance, schedule appointments, input data, and provide breastfeeding promotion. A high school diploma is required; experience with office procedures is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with computer databases preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and calculate mathematical figures.
• Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
• Ability to travel distances for multiple days, when applicable.
• Maintain a positive waiting room environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that participant fills out appropriate forms and checks for completion.
• Accurately verifies eligibility documents (ID, Medicaid letter, income verifications).
• Verifies participant meets WIC eligibility requirements.
• Obtains HIPAA signature, if needed.
• Explains WIC processes including EBT and recertification/nutrition contacts.
• Follows the walk-in process and inputs data into the computer.
• Schedules/reschedules appointments and files registrations.
• Communicates clinic policies and ensures forms are completed before departure.
• Assists participants with the EBT process and scheduling future appointments.
• Promotes breastfeeding to participants and community partners.
