Job summary

Florida Department of Health seeks a part-time OPS Family Support Worker to counsel WIC clients and provide breastfeeding support in Clay County. The role is 25-29 hours per week with occasional travel within the county and on-call obligations for evenings and weekends. Strong Microsoft Office and customer service skills are important.

You will maintain confidential client records, perform time sheet/EAR entries, and participate in trainings and meetings, supporting overall public health goals.

Qualifications

• Must have exclusively breastfed a baby for at least 6 months in the last 5 years.
• Must be willing to travel within Clay County.
• Should not have RN/RD/LDN/IBCLC credentials.
• On-call at night or weekends (up to 9pm).
• Lift and carry a minimum of 25lbs.
• Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Part-time position 25-29 hours per week.
• Time sheet and EAR entry within required time frame.
• Counsel women in the WIC clinic and manage caseload.
• Provide basic breastfeeding information and support.
• Available outside usual hours for breastfeeding problems.
• Keep client information confidential and accurate records.
• Work in outlying clinics as assigned.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and breastfeeding conferences.
• Complete forms and read assigned materials on breastfeeding.
• Assist WIC staff with breastfeeding peer counseling.
